THE GIST OF IT:
In the face of global climate shifts, and in the frequency and severity of wildfires in recent years, homeowners in high-risk areas are often compelled to take action out of fear, but many don’t know where to start.
The state of Colorado needed a wildfire mitigation campaign that made the community feel empowered and prepared to face wildfires without fear. Wildfire mitigation had to become second nature.


The Live Wildfire Ready brand had to be consistently multifaceted. It had to speak to ordinary citizens and industry professionals alike, had to represent any landscape from the plains to the white-peaked mountains, and balance intense information with approachability.


We created a brand system based around a suite of mix-and-match illustrations and textures that can be utilized to create informational diagrams and landscapes representative of any part of Colorado, and iconography that aligns to the campaign.

With endless mitigation tips, we couldn't expect every Coloradan to know every single thing about how to protect their home. That's why any piece of media created by Live Wildfire Ready incorporates some version of a tip list. If we're advertising, we might as well be educating while we were at it.


Individual illustrations can be pieced together to create different scenes for flexibility based on houses and locations in CO. If we're talking about log cabins high in the cabins, there are illustrations for that. Apartments in the suburbs... we've got that too.
